Title: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/17/07 at 18:42:26 Please someone, anyone respond to this posting. Say anything I do not care what. Just please respond as soon as possible. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Lynn_Pantic on 02/17/07 at 19:12:54 Thank you Colin... Let me know if you get the email |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Lynn_Pantic on 02/17/07 at 19:13:18 Sorry, you are Collin with 2 L's... |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/17/07 at 19:18:31 I have officially gotten two emails that said that this topic was replied to. That is correct. I said that I lost my password and I got an email about that to. It seems that all emailing in the forum is now working. Remember to check the 'Notify of Replies' checkbox people! |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/17/07 at 19:30:31 And since it works you might want to send out an announcement. I don't know what the best way to get the word out would be. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/18/07 at 20:11:26 Testing |
Title: Re: Testing Post by timgolds on 02/19/07 at 09:45:43 Great JOB!!!!!!! I got on once to start looking at the problem but got interupted and haven't been able to get back to it! Thanks for the work. Tim |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/19/07 at 09:57:43 Yeah, and I just got an email saying that you replied so it really must still be working properly. This coming weekend the forum software will probably be updated to the newest version. It would be right now but there was a problem caused by something stupid and the forum had to be reverted to this format again. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Lynn_Pantic on 02/19/07 at 10:03:46 I will include the information that the forum email is now working inthe broadcast email going to all members announcing the 2/14 update. Will go out today. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by jjk12 on 02/19/07 at 10:28:55 another test |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Lynn_Pantic on 02/19/07 at 10:34:02 Well, it is sort of working. The Forgot Password did work for me but the password for a new user and the Notify of Replies to the post is not, although Collin, you say that is working for you. Hmmmm. ??? Some progress is better than none, we will keep working on it. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/19/07 at 11:08:12 I smacked up the email server and it should hopefully cooperate better now. I don't forsee the greylister getting in our way anymore. I think grey listers are a waste of time anyway. Please, try it again. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by jjk12 on 02/19/07 at 11:52:11 Another test reply |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Lynn_Pantic on 02/19/07 at 11:53:21 I got the email for that one - looks like we have a winner. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/19/07 at 11:58:35 I thought that it was strange that I wasn't notified via email that this topic was posted in. Turns out the forum really doesn't have that set for me anymore... I wonder why. Apparently that's something to watch out for: Phantom unsubscribing to notifications on a topic. But it's good that it's not working for you. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/19/07 at 12:02:26 Nevermind that... I just realized that if you post in a topic that you had notification set on that you must recheck the box for notification each time you post. Otherwise it probably would take notification off. It makes sense. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 04:57:36 This is a test. This is only a test. Had this been a real posting, it would have contained useful information or some clever repartee'. Thank you for participating in this test of the email response system. We now return you to your regular, humdrum workday. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by cmsk on 02/20/07 at 05:17:07 I'll post a testing "1, 2, 3"... :D |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 06:38:34 Please let me know if you guys really do get the notification emails. This topic has messed up for me and won't notify me any longer but it seems like the forum itself is working other than that... |
Title: Re: Testing Post by cmsk on 02/20/07 at 06:48:52 Nope, didn't work on this end. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 07:08:51 Not sure how long it should take for the notification email(s), but nothing so far, after about 30 minutes |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 07:35:24 I feared that might be the case... >:( Try clicking on the Notification link at the top of the screen, under Hey, YourName, you have XXX messages. Date, Time You'll probably see no notifications set at all... I guess I'll have to fight with the forum software again. |

I'm "subscribed" to all of the topics I've posted in -- always did this in the hopes of this being fixed in the future. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 07:55:11 And they show up in the Notification area I mentioned above? |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 08:01:16 Ok - a quick test: I'm going to check the box below that says: "Check this if you wish to be notified of replies to this topic", and see what happens to the "Notifications" screen. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 08:02:00 Ok - the topic appeared under "Notifications" |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 08:03:47 I checked the same box for the second reply, now the topic does NOT appear under "Notifications" I'll check it again for this one. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 08:04:12 Ok, same for me and it's not emailing me either right now. Time to break out the baseball bat. ;) |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 08:05:12 Now I won't check it for this post. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 08:07:32 Ok, I know why it isn't working. It's my favorite, the grey listing program running on the server. I hate that thing. Lemme try to make it play nice once again... |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 08:07:44 The check box in this screen (the posting screen) appears to be acting as a toggle. Check it once, the topic appears under "Notifications". Check it again on a subsequent post, and the topic is removed from "Notifications". That doesn't solve the "why we don't get emails", but it may help you down the path. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 08:12:55 *BLUSH* well... you see... when you change the settings file for the greylister it helps if you restart the program so it re-reads the settings... Whoops... Should work now! I hope anyway... it's still greylisting things that were listed before I restarted... We might need to give it a minute... |

Yup, listed there, but not letting me know about any posts... :( |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 08:22:02 Well, Dale is getting emails about notifications now. I'm not but it hates me. Let's see if it notifies you when I send this. It's not even trying to send notifications to you or I. Maybe I'll be moving up the plan to upgrade the forum software. Would everybody be cool with a little downtime later tonight? I'm getting sick of fighting with this forum software. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by Dale on 02/20/07 at 08:23:31 Well, Lord have mercy....actually got an email! Thanks! |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 08:24:49 Don't thank me yet... It's still not working right and I'm not sure what it'll do on any other topics... But lets try a new topic and see what happens! |

Okay, I take it back -- sort of. All of my OLD selections for notify are there, but this thread is NOT. I also can NOT remove those existing ones by using the check boxes... So, that's messed up too aparently. Sooooo, I'm game for down time if it fixes things, sure. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 08:31:37 I hadn't set this topic to notify me so thats why I wasn't getting any notifies. I just did now though so it does seem to be working. But, it is a bit wonky sometimes and it does seem to not work unsetting notify on the notifications screen. I still sort of want to get rid of this version to hopefully fix the problems and get some more features. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by LeAnn Cucchiara on 02/20/07 at 11:41:42 I went to the Forum last Sunday evening & it was different - all of the different headers were there but all subjects were empty. There were no discussions/threads (not sure what you call them) at all. Instead of the IS Tech logo was the YaBB 2 Gold logo at the top left corner. I had just upgraded our EVO system to the 2/14 build so I thought it had something to do with that........ but I guess not. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 11:56:00 No, it wasn't just you. There was an attempt to upgrade the forum to a new version but things weren't working right and the forum was reverted back to it's regular version. However, I think that another try may be made tonight and this time it should be more successful. |
Title: Re: Testing Post by LeAnn Cucchiara on 02/20/07 at 13:48:13 Great!! I also checked the notify me of replies to this topic but no such luck... |
Title: Re: Testing Post by kkmfg on 02/20/07 at 16:16:19 yeah, I got an email forwarded that shows that your email provider is blacklisting the forum's server from sending email. I think I know a way to fix it though. |
