Title: Old DBA Version, access tables.
Post by PamB on 04/10/08 at 06:47:57

Hello,

I am a newbie- my company is using the old version of DBA, and I would like to know anyone could tell me how to access the tables directly, and what file extensions I'm looking for.

I need to get a list of non moving inventory, and the canned reports are too long to convert into one page for Excel, so I think accessing the tables would be much quicker.

Thank You!
Pam

We did this directly from Excel with MS Query. If you are familiar with the use of MS Query all you need to know is:

A. How do I connect to the DBA data via ODBC?

B. Which file do I need to look in?

C. Which fields do I need for my report?

Question A should be easy for your IT person to answer for you.

Question B and C can be looked up in the (free download) file found here: http://www.istechsupport.com/freedl.php

And, as always, when you get stuck we can answer specific questions.

NOTE: You could also use Crystal Reports to gather the data, if that is more familiar for you.
