Title: Field name for "Reason for Returns" for RMA
Post by gtladmin on 08/25/08 at 12:25:57

In SO-P-F, Enter Returns, what is the table and field name that holds the date for "Reason for Return"?

TIA,

Val

Are you looking for the data from each RMA (ISRMAI.B) or the list of codes (ISRMAC.B)?

The data - sales wants to do a Crystal report using the data entered in that field.  They are not using codes,
but words, like "customer ordered wrong part".

Would that be in the ISRMAI.B table?

Ok, so at first I didn't see that table through Crystal.  So I generated new DDFs in Evo and now
I can see those two tables, but no data comes up in them.  What's up with that?

Try looking at them in Maintain Database. If you are using the RMA module (as we do) then that is where the data goes. I can see it in there and I can use the data for my browser-based datamining reports.

Well, it turns out that Sales has refused to move to the new module (even though they went thru testing it for months) and have remained using the old module.  Way back in Jan/Feb I had posted a question on how to get the date from the old RMA stuff and had to do a data extraction to Excel to get it, and it wasn't very friendly but it was all there.  And I let Sales know how the data was being stored and that reason should be one of the primary reasons why they move to the new RMA module.  Now we are back in time--again they are asking the same thing, how to do a Crystal report using that data, and again (DEJA VU!) I am telling them you can't but if you use the new module you will be able to--but they won't use the new module.  I'm at my wits end here......

SO NOW they just want me to make Lynn and Allen modify the old module so it essentially does what the new module does--save the data into a different table. There's no telling them otherwise.....

Tell them how much the bill would be. That might motivate them  :D

or accidently remove the old RMA menu.......

blame the update.......or something.

but magically transpose into the New RMA, and tell them, Oh well !! :o  ;D
