Title: electronic payroll tax remitting with DBA payroll
Post by Laura Oliver on 11/12/09 at 08:57:03

In Alabama state withholding must be remitted electronically.
How does remitting Payroll taxes electronically work with DBA?

Also are DBA reports  sufficent to send to local tax authorities....like city occupation tax, etc.
or do I need to transfer the information to a form.

Do the forms look like the forms the state and feds send you or do I have to xfer the information?

I have outsourced my payoll for 13 years, however I am considering doing it inhouse.
Thanks,
Laura

Most states, and the feds, have a website where taxes liabilities are entered and you authorize the payee to electronically take the funds from your cash account at the bank. In DBA payroll, after you have properly setup payroll defaults, you will run payroll, which will keep track of the tax liabilities, and then you will transfer those liabilities to Accounts Payable. Once those amounts are in accounts payable, you will select the vouchers to pay to the tax entity, and issue the check. We print the check to plain paper, and authorize the tax entity to do the electronic funds transfer using their website.
