Title: TAS-N Program Scheduler
Post by TMC Trailers on 08/13/12 at 22:47:28

Is there a list of the file names for all prorgams that can be run from program scheduler?

The main programs i'd like to run are as follows:

- Fix binary zeros
- Recalc chart of accounts
- Recalc inventory book value
- Post to the GL.

Thanks

If you are going to "schedule"  the Fix Binary Zeros utility,
dont forget to backup your tables.

Is this new utility going to do that also?

:-X

I would like to :

1.- Reconcile Inventory On-Hand
2.- Recalculate Inventory Book Value
3.- NZ Multi File Re-Index

;)

The TAS-O backup utility now works with the new scheduler but it didn't quite make the cutoff for the update.  Email me if you have the August update installed and would like a copy of the updated backup program.

If you look in the DBAMFG folder for files whose names begin with "AUTO" you will find the ones that can be configured to run with the scheduler.  Recalc Chart of Accounts should very seldom be needed but GL-O isn't a bad idea to automate.  The other ones you are both asking for are already available.

Just finished updating and tried running TAS-N and it looks like I'm missing EVOSCHEDULER.DFM  Is this a file you can send to me?

AUTOINDX is NZINDEX.RUN just compiled to not ask questions so it could be run with a scheduler.

All Auto programs were made to run with a scheduler. ie do not stop to ask for users input.

I don't think it does.  I can't make it work either.  No errors, no logs, no INSTRUCTIONS.

From the Help (but I goofed & didn't add the new topic to the Table of Contents) :

General Program Description

Use this program to define programs and parameters to run on a pre-scheduled unattended basis.  Once programs are added to the schedule, on the server or a workstation that does not normally run Evo-ERP, go to UT-A, program EvoSchedSetup which will run a Setup and create a desktop icon to run the scheduler.  Close the Evo-ERP menu and launch the program using that icon and the programs on the schedule will be launched automatically per the schedule.

General Program Operation

To add a program to the schedule, click Add and enter the Name,Description and actual program name.  If the program requires parameters to be passed, enter them, then indicate the company for which the program should run.  Enter the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) and next occurrence.  if you want it to run multiple times per day, select Once and enter a time in minutes for the recurrence.  Finally enter the path and filename for the Log File that will confirm that the program has run and optionally enter an email address for notification when the program runs.

Programs Currently Supported

The programs listed below can be run in unattended mode based on configuration settings specified with no additional parameters passed.  Load the program once at UT-A, enter the desired from/through ranges and click Save Settings.  Once the settings are saved, when the program is run, it will run without prompting for user input.

AUTOIND.RUN            Rebuild Inventory Stock Status
AUTOMRF.RUN            Generate MRP
AUTOBMG.RUN            Standard Cost Rollup
AUTOMME.RUN            Reconcile Inventory

AUTOMMD.RUN            Change Part Number
AUTOUTKG.RUN            Recalculate Book Value
AUTOUTKF.RUN            Reset Average Cost to Standard Cost
AUTODCH.RUN            Post Data Collection Labor

Anybody have this working? We are having issues getting it to run.  Jim is sure he's done everything required, and then some.

BUMP....is no one actually using this because no one can get it working?  I am wondering....maybe we should just skip it?

Ok, guess it really does not work.  We will let management know, and move on to other more pressing issues with Evo.  Too bad, it has promise.

I can't seem to get it to work.  If someone has it working I'd love some help! :)

What have you tried?  What program(s) are you trying to schedule?

When I first wrote this you had to have a PC just running Evo in the background all the time. I was pointed to NSSM.exe by one of our users. That allows for a PC to run Evo as a Service, You must run as ADMIN to install it but once installed it works great. Now initially I told people to install it on their Server, but we have since found out that even though it does install and says it is running as a service on the Server, Windows Security stops it from running anything. Not sure why, but it does. So I am now telling users to Put this on a PC again, not the  Server.  This PC should be a PC that stays on 24/7 and does not get disconnected from the network for any reasons.

so I would suggest uninstalling it from the server get to a command prompt and type:  NSSM remove EvoService

then go to your PC and launch Evo as ADMIN, Right click the Evo Icon and select Run As Administrator. then go to UT-A and run EvoServiceSetup

if you want to use Emails to get notifications then setup your email information and press the test email button to make sure it works. then press Continue.

now you may use TAS-N to schedule the programs you want to run.

Hope this helps.

If you tell it to run Once then you can tell it to recur every XX minutes.

NovaZyg writes "if you want to use Emails to get notifications then setup your email information and press the test email button to make sure it works."  Email test works.  Nothing emails when auto program runs.

Also, I want to see what's on my reports for SM-J-C and UT-K-G.  How do you get a report to print or email you???
