Title: EVO E-mail out settings with OFFICE 365
Post by Tim Montgomery on 08/28/15 at 15:43:50

Has anyone had any luck setting up user settings, E-mail tab with the correct SMTP settings when using Microsoft Office 365?
We found the SMTP server name and port number they want us to use, but they also are saying to use Encryption type TLS and encryption is not a choice in EVO E-mail setup.
It might be similar to an Exchange type server address setup.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

All you need that for is logging into a valid outgoing mail server.

So, if you have a gmail account, or whatever, just use those credentials.

I am concerned about mail getting seen as spam due to it appearing to be relayed when using a gmail account (plus having to setup the account correctly so it does not need to be monitor manually).  Has anyone attempted the Connector setup available under their Microsoft 365 account?  Or the IIS method?

I haven't done the 365 setup.  I email quotes from Evo, and started emailing to myself rather than the recipient.  From Outlook, I can then forward the message (editing the subject line and body) to my customer.  I personally like having the email in my sent items.  When it comes directly from Evo, I loose that history.

There's a BCC setting in your Mail setup so it will automatically BCC to that address every time you send from Evo.

We only have a few users, so we have set up a special email address for each person to use in the BCC. Mail coming in to that address is forwarded to me as well as the person that sent it. That way we have a central repository for all emailed documents, and the sender gets a copy as well.

I have a rule set up to automatically put all Evo documents into a separate folder, but you could also just have it set to put them in your Sent Mail as well.

Now that we are emailing all invoices and statements as well as Quotes and Acknowledgements, I can't imagine the work required to do all that manually. In the month that we've been doing it (one month ago yesterday) we sent over 500 emails. BTW, I did statements this morning and didn't have to snail mail a single one :-))
