Anyone have any luck using SMTP-Relay service through GMail?

We use Google for our domain email, but I can't get Evo to relay mail. Here's some of my settings as well as the error I get when I try to TestEmail.

When I get this error Google sends an email to me notifying me that:

Google stopped this sign-in attempt, but you should review your recently used devices:

I don't know if there's some limitation of Evo's sendmail routine, or if it's just so old that Google is not going to let it operate?

I should add that my password has spaces (some programs don't like this), and gmail requires SMTP Auth + TLS encryption in order to relay email.

Are you using the latest version of the Evo email that has the security capability? You need to be on 2015.2 with all patches downloaded (SM-V)

I'm not 100% sure on this one, but we use an instant messenger program in the office called Pidgin and in order to use that program we had to make some changes to the google email accounts.

security.google.com -----> then look for a option to "allow less secure apps"

We made the switch here to using our gmail accounts, works well except for the legacy programs that are not working with the new EVO mail. RMA and sending statements are coming to mind as not working.

But it is progress. Hope that helps you

We have had success with Microsoft SMTP after applying the patches provided and changing port setting.

How are you able to email customer statements using the new EVO mail?

Make sure the menu is calling T7ARE.RWN for statements, that should work with the new Evo email.
