Title: DBA Sox Audits
Post by abrown on 02/24/16 at 10:04:02

We are undergoing a SOX audit and the auditors are asking for the following:

Date a DBA Account was created.

Logging table changes.
Logging object changes.

If it is possible for us to change source code.

If anyone could help answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Evo-ERP has some of the auditing but DBA Classic has very little.  It also depends what version of DBA Classic you are using.  If it is the original 2004.1 or older released by DBA, there is no auditing.  They did make source code available but you would need a programmer familiar with it and the TAS language to make any changes.  Changes made since then by IS Tech Support programming since we took it over, source code is not released.

Our release of DBA Classic does document the creation date and time of GL and Inventory transactions and logs change date and time of changes to item master, sales orders and purchase orders.  Evo-ERP also documents the user identity of the person making the changes or entering the transactions.  GL Account creation date is not tracked but until it has any transactions it isn't contributing to anything.

Also, how would we know if we had the source code?  If we have it we would like to get rid of it.  That would satisfy audit because we wouldn't have it to make changes.

Throw away the CD (if you still have it).  You would never need it.  If you ever had to reinstall or recover from a server failure, you would need a backup of he DBAMFG folder (which you should be making religiously) and you would have to download and install a newer version of Pervasive than what is on the old DBA CD so the CD is worthless to you.

If the auditors want more tracking going forward, you would need to update to our version.  The version you have has none.
