Title: map DBA drive no longer works after windows update
Post by Laura Oliver on 08/20/18 at 11:50:22

One of our workstations got a windows update on Friday and we found the dba/evo shortcuts no longer worked this morning.   I thought I would just remap the drive but the server does not show even in browse. This workstation is connected to the server because I can get to our  other shared doc (mapped) drives.   The DBA.drive is the only drive  that appears not to connect.

All other workstations are fine. We think this work station  may have been changed during a windows update Friday afternoon but that might just be a coincidence.

I have tried various ways to re-map the network drive with no luck.

Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks,
Laura

It seems that I had to re-install the workstation.
I never have had to do that after a windows update before.

its unusual that the link was broken when you update but anything is possible. Evo does't require you have a mapped drive you can use the UNC path ....(example X:\DATA\DBAMFG). Re installing the workstation setup for EVO is not a bad idea either.

With newer Windows operating systems no mapped drive is needed for either DBA or Evo.  For DBA point the icon to
\\servername\share\dbamfg\tp5wdba.exe
(whatever your server name and share are) and for Evo, edit the paths in the C:\ISTS\TASPRO7.INI to reflect the full UNC path rather than a mapped drive.
