Title: Java32
Post by JamesO on 10/17/18 at 13:42:00

We have one user after the EVO update that is getting a Java Error H:\JAVA32\bin\JAVA.exe  "Windows can not find "H:\JAVA32\bin\JAVA.exe", Make sure you typed you typed the name correctly and try again. The H is on the server of EVO not local. He can log into EVO but sporadically this pops up.

If you look in that path, does the file exist?

I only an H:\java\Bin\java.exe  not a java32.
Only 1 person out of many is receiving this pop up. Hmm. maybe he needs a 64 bit local java client??

The 2018.2 update should have installed both a JAVA and JAVA32 folder under DBAMFG.  The JAVA folder is the 4 bit Java 10 and the JAVA32 folder is the 32 bit JAVA 8.  Is this a 32 bit machine?

The server that EVO is on is Linux 64 bit. The users machine is win7 64 bit. Also I only see a single Java folder under the DBAMFG  no JAVA32 folder

So if you installed the 2018.2 update that should have installed both the JAVA and the JAVA32 folders and the files in with the update. If one of the folders isn't in the DBAMFG or EVO folder, check your antivirus or Windows Defender and make sure it didn't get quarantined. If it hasn't been quarantine you can either re-install the update which would give you the missing folder or get that folder and files from Lynn and simply drop them in the DBAMFG or EVO folder.

We checked a backup of the DBAMFG before the upgrade and the JAVA32 folder did not exist, So we never had that folder. Also we are ruining SUSE Linux 64 bit

Jimmy and I work together...update on this, I copied the JAVA32 folder from a 32bit system into the DBAMFG folder and we have been all set, no issues running SM-V any longer.  Thank you all for your help!  Simple enough fix, no idea why that folder did not come across during the last update froom 2018.1 to 2018.2.

Kind regards,

Val

Hello everyone,

I was just browsing all the messages and I read this one about the missing JAVA32 folder. I don't have that one either in our Dbamfg directory I only have the JAVA folder does anyone have a copy of the other JAVA32 folders they could send me?

Scott

The only version that uses the Java32 folder is 2018.2.  In 2018.3 we reverted back to a single Java folder that is the 32 bit Java 8.

Sorry to hijack this topic Lynn, but if the java files somehow magically "disappeared", is it just a matter of restoring the files from a previous backup? (Running latest build)

I'm not at Nortra anymore, but they having issues, and I guess their backups are invalid. I have copied java folder from March 2022, but I'm pretty sure this backup is pre-update from 2017.1

Thanks in advance.
