Title: Copying Evo to an independant workstation to Test. Post by AndyOB on 10/20/21 at 12:32:00 Running 2017.1 + PSQL 12 Server, I think we need to update to latest (currently 2021.1), but was hoping to dump Evo onto a notebook, update it and run it for people to evaluate before running it on our live setup. Any problem with installing trial PSQL 12 Server on a notebook copying Evo folder over and running from said laptop? Can't find the exact procedure, but honestly even if I could install install an empty version of Evo 2021.1 to a notebook that would be fine, we don't need to be able to use our data. Let me know, -A. |

Just do the PSQL setup (with a demo lic) and move over the Evo folder to get it running. You can have people sit at the system and 'demo' it. That is what I did a while back when we made the jump from Classic to Evo. The trick is actually getting people to take the time to try it. Val |

Title: Re: Copying Evo to an independant workstation to T Post by AndyOB on 10/21/21 at 10:35:13 Oh hey, another question. Where are the pages that list the Fixes/Enhancements for the different revisions of Evo? I collected v2011.1 through 2018.3, but I forget for the life of me where they were hosted and there doesn't appear to be links to the update notes anywhere on the forward facing webpages. I compiled them into an Excel PivotTable/PDF if anyone wants a copy, makes it easy to read through what's been changed/fixed version to version. |

Title: Re: Copying Evo to an independant workstation to T Post by AndyOB on 10/25/21 at 07:22:47 Lastly! I'm getting the "Error detected in DEMO." message on my 2021.1 updated demo copy of Evo. Is there a fix for that, like does the serial key have to be re-entered or something? Not planning on using this other than to just let people see if the update breaks any of their workflow. Thanks much, -A. (andy@nortra-cables.com - if you need to direct contact me) |
Title: Re: Copying Evo to an independant workstation to T Post by Lynn_Pantic on 10/25/21 at 16:17:16 Did you copy over the entire DBAFG folder and update it? That should have copied all the Evo/DBA licenses. |
Title: Re: Copying Evo to an independant workstation to T Post by AndyOB on 10/28/21 at 07:46:56 I did, if I run dba it works, but Evo does not. |
