Hidden Logon Screen
02/04/03 at 18:22:46
Anybody know the fix for a hidden DBA logon Screen? After upgrading to 2002.3 the DBA splash screen hides the logon screen causing the users to think that DBA is hung up.
Thanks for any help!

This has shown up for Workstations running XP. No real fix that I have seen. We have only one that does it and its user just drags the splash screen out of the way.

Someone IMed me about turning off the splash screen for Pervasive. It's located under the Client Configuration folder in the PV Control Center. I'm going to try it.

I have the same problem on some of the XP workstations but not the others. A fix for this would be great.
Usually you can see it flash when the logon screen appears if you are watching the splash screen.

Did anybody determine whether turning off the Pervasive Splash Screen is a fix for this? Would be a good addition to the knowledge base if it works. Especially XP (seems to be the most susceptible to this problem)

I'm not able to access v99.2 on XP Pro workstations in peer to peer mode as no login screen appears.

You need to update your Pervasive. The version you would be running is not compatible with XP.

That would be your problem. Btrieve does not work with newer operating systems. You HAVE to upgrade to current versioning.
