Printing SOs after Entry
02/11/03 at 08:59:56

In the same manner as entering a PO, after saving the SO it would be great if you were asked "Do you want to print this SO now?"

This would work great in conjunction with user customizable defaults in SO-C, because you could just press <F10> and you'd be done Smiley

What would you print?  I'd want to print a packing slip.

Yes, that is the trick to this one - if you are ship from stock, probably Packing Slip and maybe Invoice too.  If you are Make To Order, then probably Acknowledgement.  Can be done, I will throw the question back to the users - is a default setting better or ask every time which to print?

The default would be better as 9 times out of 10, the same form needs printed, in our case the acknowledgement.

Need to have default definable by user...for us, we print a packing slip maybe 70% of the time.

Default setting would be best for us.

Again, similar to the suggestion about the default settings, I would suggest to all the the most flexible is to have user-specific .ini files which are stored on the server and are called by the DBA programs, where each user would have the default set for them and would be accessible from any station they logged in to.

A library function.  And since I know that the programmers are busy creating a bunch of new libraries to enable some of these new functionalites, this fits in nicely.

Default would work best for us. We Always print a Packing Slip, and occasionally will also print an Acknowledgement.

OK Folks, this one is done and posted in today's update Smiley

It has options for printing all three - Acknowledgement, Invoice and Packing Slip and once you set the Y & N the first time you can save the settings either system-wide or by user (like everything else).

If you don't want the feature at all and want the pop up window to go away, you can turn it off in SD-Q.

Isn't this awesome?!!

Now I just need to figure out how to add data fields to my RTMs so I can use the new SO-A (need to include CC info from CM-A).

Also, the "Info" button is a marvelous addition - now if you could change it from there too (along with address)....

Now that I can use this feature (Thanks to Lynn for getting SOF to pull in the necessary info from CM to print Credit Card info on Invoices!!!), I'm bringing this back to the top.

Re: the "Info" button. If there was even a button to link to AR-A (either on the "Info" screen or just in the SO-A header screen) that would be a nice addition.
