Custom Financial Statements
04/25/03 at 16:06:28

I'm trying to set up a custom balance sheet. I copied the "BAL" form from the default company, but I can't get the (sub)Totals to add together for a grand total of Assets or Liabilities.

Of course, there's no data in the default company, so I can't test it there to see if it actually works or not. But it uses the same priciple I tried at first; then, when I couldn't get it to work I found the sample report, and I copied the whole thing line by line, figuring I'd modify it a bit at a time if I could get it to work. No go.

David,

Because of the extreme limitations of DBA in creating and formatting the financial statements, I had custom ones done for a client in MS Access which get the data through an ODBC link back to DBA.  They are much prettier, can include your logos, can have as many groups as you wish and you can name the groups what you wish etc.

Even Lynn indicated they were good.  She was going to market them on the main IS site, but that seems to have died a quiet death with being so busy with evolution.

Available if you would like.

I'm not really concerned with the limitations of the formatting capability - I'd just like it to give me the numbers. Does anyone use these custom reports? I can get everything but the Grand Totals to work.
