I don't know about anyone else... A link to Enter Vendor Pricing while entering items sure sounds like a nice thing to me.
 
While we're at it, being able to enter the base price would be nice too.
 
Finally, access to enter or maintain the BOM from here would be quite helpful! (Kind of like one stop shopping).
 
Don't know if there are issues with data access and maintenance here.
 
Now, we have to go to many screens to make a new item.
