Add more decimal places for received items
10/20/03 at 10:53:48

Only having 2 decimal places for recieving item makes receiving steel and tother raw material a nightmare.

Often is it mathmatically impossible to receive the correct qty and have it it match the total invoiced price.

If it is just a matter of rounding to match the invoice, in AP-C, enter the total invoice line extension rather than the unit cost and the program will make the 3rd or 4th decimal place adjustment to the unit cost.

I'm not sure I understand.  The received total won't match the invoiced total.  Here's an example of the problem.

Actual Invoice Amounts
100.875 ft of material @ $3.20  = $322.80 (this would be the invoiced amount)

Received Amouts
100.87 ft of material @ $3.20  =  $322.784

100.88 ft of material @ $3.20  =  $322.816

In most cases I can change the price to match the total, but it doesn't always work.

Enter the extended amount of the invoice as $322.80 and leave the quantity at 100.87.  The program will recalculate the unit cost to be $3.2001.

Does it matter what I receive in PO-C?

You mean whether you receive the 100.87 or 100.88?  No, just leave it alone in AP-C, whichever you receive.
