Where are the USAGE Numbers coming from?
11/04/03 at 15:38:36

I just installed the new ISTS Update with USAGE and TRANSACTIONS buttons.   COOOOLLLLLLL!!!!!!

The only problem I see so far, is if I check the usage on an item that we used 8 of last month, it shows that 44 were used.   undecided

The Transactions look like this:

10/06/03 Shipment   1.00
10/10/03 Shipment   2.00
10/17/03 Shipment   1.00
10/21/03 WO RECPT 4.00
10/21/03 Shipment   1.00
10/30/03 Shipment   3.00

Usage for October 2003 shows as 44.00

Should be the total quantity of S, I, J and M transactions for the item in the month.  A "W" transaction adds to stock so it is not a "Usage".   So in your example, it should be the total of the "S" transactions.  I will investigate further but I just spot-checked a couple of other items in my database and it looks OK.

I think I know what it is, can have it fixed by tomorrow.  It is a date function MONTH(xx/xx/xx) that is pulling the transactions for Month=10 (for October for example) but not filtering by year as well so it is getting ALL the October usage.  Need to also filter by year so it ONLY gets the right transactions.  My test data doesn't go back too far so I didn't have multiple years of activity which is why I wasn't seeing it at first.

Yeah, Lynn, I think you've discovered the problem.  I was getting very wacky results, too, but your observation would explain what I'm seeing.  It'll be a great new tool when it works.  Thanks.

In fairness to the programmers and the preliminary testing, upon further review, the year filter is in the code but we had to make some changes to the date related functions for users that use date format other than mm/dd/yy and something in that function change is causing the year filter not to work.  The previous version I tested works fine but ONLY for mm/dd/yy date format.  We are on the right track now, we will get it straightened out.

OK, it is fixed.  New IS Tech file uploaded so if you haven't yet downloaded, you will get the fixed file.  If you have already downloaded, you can get just the IN-A program at www.istechsupport.com/dl/ina.zip.  The WinZip password is the same one that was emailed to subscribers yesterday.

Did find one DBA bug that will be fixed in the next IS Tech update and would affect the Usage numbers but probably doesn't affect too many people.  If you use Make From parts AND the component being absorbed by the Make From parent requires Lot Control, the transaction quantity was being multiplied by -1 so it was opposite what is should be.
