System Lock up
12/10/03 at 10:16:30

Lynn do you have any suggestion fixes that address the following problems?

1.      We are continuing to see a couple of computers lock up when posting or printing a trial balance in DBA.  Functions GL-E & GL-0 in DBA.
So far we have not lost any data that I know of, but I'm sure that day is coming that we will.  When the screen freezes we are reduced to switching off the power to the CPU as control, alt, delete will not work.   We believe that we where seeing this before the last update as well.  We are now seeing it occur every other day or so.  (Oper Sys-usually Windows 98)

2.      When entering AP Invoices for payments sometime the routine will stop responding and you have to control, alt, delete and reopen Dba to continue.  (Oper Sys XP Pro)

3.      More then in the past we have seems some of the other routines stops responding (SO. PO).  Where you have to control, alt, delete and reopen Dba to continue.  (Oper Sys are Windows 98 and XP Pro)

Thanks,
Ed

Sounds like operating systems issues to me on either those particular workstations, or possibly the server, or maybe your router/switch box has some cables crossed over and after a number of transactions there are sufficient network "collisions" that the OS starts to lock-up.

If it were a true DBA issue, a whole bunch of people would be experiencing it. I don't believe they are.

You need someone to take a good expert look at your systems and your network.
