enter labor, standard time

When labor is enter in WO-F (ENTER LABOR) if the sequence on the work order is flagged to use standard time, the software skips past the time field and goes directly to the quantity fields. (This is correct in my opinion.) Smiley
When labor is enter in WO-M (BATCH LABOR ENTRY) if the sequence on the work order is flagged to use standard time, the software DOES NOT skip past the time field and if a time is entered there is no time issued to this sequence even if a quantity is entered.  (This is incorrect in my opinion.) Sad
Did I miss a default setting or can this be fixed? ???

Sounds like something that needs to be fixed.  Let me take a look.

Lynn,

Another issue I found in WO-M (BATCH LABOR ENTRY) is that it does not prompt "Is this sequence now complete?" which is necessary to remove that sequnce from the scheduling modules.  Isn't this a problem or is it a default I don't have set? ???

When we run scheduling, even if the sequence is marked finished, it still shows up in scheduling for any open amounts on the sequence.  Only way we have been able to get it off a report, is to make sure all the parts are accounted for either in scrap or production.

Karen is correct. The sequence complete flag is not looked at by the scheduling programs. I had looked at having this done for a client but it seemed like it was going to be just too much programming.

In the past, I have had errors in the total labor for a work order when a routing number is flagged to use standard time and then labor for that sequence is entered in the batch labor entry.  The labor entry was accepted in the batch labor entry and the standard labor was applied when the sequence was finished, consequently double the labor in the sequence and in the job cost.  Your description actually sounds like a fix!

When I answer yes to the "Is this sequence now complete?" prompt,  DBA removes that sequence from my work center scheduling report whether I have entered a lesser quantity or not.

I looked at this again and Norm is right.  It is removed from the work center schedule.  I did not realize this had been fixed.  This will clean up the schedules!!

Can also enter through WO-K-F.  Just enter the finish date of the sequence.  This helps alot since we usually get a list from the foreman, rather than from the operator.
