Yes, we are not using it. However we just got a newsletter from DBA and in it it says that they are working on a vertical entry screen for SO's and PO's. Once that's available we might have to re-evaluate EJ. For now we just find it slow and annoyingly setup.

JW,

Go to the DBA site. The import utility has been updated a couple of times since the initial release.

kkmfg,

Could you forward that email to me?

We are trying to use Ezijobs.  We set up a seperate company (took 4 support tickets to get that to work) and started entering information for circuit boards that we build.  One problem we ran into immediately is that Ezijobs only allows  two decimals for the cost of an item-
not a good thing when you are using components that might cost a few 10ths of a cent.  A support ticket revealed that this is a known problem that is being worked onl
Also, there is no cost of BOM's report, which is a staple of most MRP software.
Fortunately, we have lifetime licences for DBA, and we got an extension to our Ezijobs "trial" to October (it would have run out in April).

Apparently (according to Warren) there are a number of new builds coming in June that will supposedly address a fair number of issues. Additionally, there is supposed to be a capability to link to Data Collection by July......

Every time I think about testing EJ again I read something stupid like this.

>  two decimals for the cost of an item-
not a good thing when you are using components that might cost a few 10ths of a cent.

> Also, there is no cost of BOM's report, which is a staple of most MRP software.

These kinds of problems lead me to believe that the programmers had no clue about real manufacturing issues.

With such basic stuff being rolled in after the initial release you have to wonder if it will ever really work as well as DBA. which we know isnt perfect but Lynn is trying to make it that way.

Actually, there IS a BOM cost roll-up...perhaps he just hasn't looked through the menus to find it.... undecided

The 2 decimal place thing...well....programmer will be programmers....

What I mean is there is not a BOM cost roll up report that you can run for a specific item.  DBA has BM-G and BM-H to do this.  Ezijob's current work-around for this is to use Report Builder.

The BOM cost roll-up can be sent to excel (same as almost anything else). Then you can report upon it any way you want.... Grin I would have to say that is an improvement over the totally fixed format of report that DBA is limited to....just my thought though.... Wink

I assume you mean Inventory/Inventory Setup/BOM Cost Rollup.

The BOM cost roll up does not provide a breakdown showing  the costs of individual items (components).
If you look at a BOM's components, there is no cost field (not sure if you could add it, though.)

Did not see anywhere in that screen where you could export anything to Excel.

Again, you could write a query and create a report that would do this, which is Ezijobz suggested work-around.

I am trying to get Ezijobz implemented in my company ???

The decimal thing is a big deal, we basically can't proceed until that "little issue" is fixed.  When you make a million of something, a half cent is a big deal.  I sent in a ticket this week and was told it is a big priority but no firm date when it will be changed.

I have been working through the program and trying to asses whether it will work for my company.  I agree that it will really slow things down, especially AP.  Again, I'm told a new module is on its way.

My gut tells me to wait until the system is developed and not be a test guinea pig for Ezijobz.

I agree with the last two posts.  After voicing our displeasure with Ezijobz, we have received two extensions to our trial period, and have been told that there is going to be a update by the end of this month that will address some our concerns.  I'm not holding my breath.  We are currently using Lynn's updates, and are very pleased with them.
