Check # incorrect in AR-Q (Inquiry)
03/16/04 at 10:32:45

I was using ISTS update 070403 and did not notice this. I just updated to ISTS 021304. Now the check number is wrong in AR-Q. It is correct in the Aging, Statement and Pay History, no matter whether I set Long Check # to Yes or No. Can anyone confirm?

Anyone?
Also, at least one check number is incorrect in the Pay History.

I'd like to see how widespread this is (in my own files) In what files and fields are the check numbers kept?

I checked today's transactions of customers' payments, and you are right that in AR-Q, the customers' check numbers are ALL incorrect.  My guess is that DBA is assigning its own sequence of check numbers to the transactions. In AR-Q, the ck numbers were sequenced for example, from 4393 to 4396.  These check numbers have no meaning to me and do not reflect the customers' check numbers.  ???

The last update we downloaded was 3/26/2004.

I just wanted to confirm your finding. Cheesy

OOPS....  When we introduced the Long Customer Check Number in December, we missed AR-Q.  Will fix.

The Customer Aging and payment files are now storing a sequential number which is a cross reference over to another file that stores the actual check number (which can now be 20 characters long and contain alpha characters).  We missed AR-Q when we added the cross-reference logic to the programs that display the check number so it is not looking over to the new file.

Is there a fix for this now??  When I run my AR-R  all of the check numbers for payments made are gone.  The payment amounts are there, but the check numbers are gone.
