We have had the problem on and off working with make-froms. We use FIFO and the make-from concept is great to get our actual cost. Because we are creating populated circuit boards with electronic components, it is supposed to take each of the components and add them to the cost of the population to have out actual costs. However, what is happening is that the items are received under incoming inspection. They are coming in at the correct cost (as near as we can figure), but when they are actually received into inventory, they are going in at the population cost only, not including all the components. Unless the production staff actually checks this before they do Finished Production, it drastically understates our costs. On checking, the parts actually leave inventory. It seems to be something in receiving going wrong. We had this problem before and were told it was a bug in the program-this was over a year ago. It was fixed for a period of time, but now has come back again. The only way to fix it is though Adjust Physical Inventory-after checking the transaction files to see what the correct cost was it originally came in at. Sometime we also have to edit buckets. Just recently, I was out, someone else was doing finished production who didn't think about checking first, and did Finished Production at the incorrect cost. Is the bug back? or is it something else? It does not seem to be isolated to certain assemblies or certain vendors. Any suggestions? ??? Nancy110339
