HELP-A/P chk processing-system crash
05/07/04 at 07:42:14

Please Advise what files need to be checked.

DBA crashed while I was posting A/P checks to the general ledger.  I received a message that there was a writing error - BKSYMSTR file.
The checks printed okay, and I was in the process of saving them, when the crash occurred.

We are on 3/26/2004 IS Tech update.

I assume the check register, a/p aging and general ledger files may be affected, but I don't know specifically where to look.

THANKS!

Print AP-G again - the checks that posted will not be on it and the ones that didn't will still be there so you can see where you stand.  You may be really lucky and everything posted and it crashed at the very end trying to reset the "next" check number (which is what it is doing in BKSYMSTR)

You may have some that posted fully and the rest didn't post at all, print them again to the screen using the correct starting check number, make sure they print in the same order so they all get the same number as the actual printed checks and post them.

Then print Aging to be sure that everything that was paid has come off the aging, GL-I to be sure the check register has all the checks in it and make sure the CD patch in GL-O has everything in it.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Our DBA server is still down, but now I know what steps to take when we come back up.
