I am not familiar with DBA enough, particularly in the scheduling area to even know enough to ask this question, but I have to ask it anyway. We are in the process of looking at choices on how to trim labor, without creating too many headaces in the process. One area is suggesting moving to a 4 day work week, another to random (depending on a given need) letting them go home, another still is looking at splitting the shifts in two and making one work M-Th and the other Tu - F. The middle one is no problem, except that we're afraid of leaving something out. The first or third is fine, but... Can we get DBA to understand it, so we can schedule the work load? I have been told that M-S is either a weekend, holiday or a work day... All or nothing. I would "think" it would be possible to put in say 14 hrs are available in this work center on Friday, 28 on M-Th. If it is, my production control people do not know how to set it up. If it isn't possible, then I am pretty much relegated to simply setting Friday as a holiday and working 4 day weeks, with no production on Fridays... Any ideas, work around, proper work processes? AND, how to accomplish them. Thanks John
