Crystal Reports don't work?
08/09/04 at 09:00:21

We just finally upgraded from DBA 99.2 to 2002.4 & now all my Crystal Reports 7.0 do not seem to work. I get the following error:

Btrieve error: data buffer error

and then
error detected by database .dll

I have run the ddf update. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Open the report in Crystal. On the Database menu, you'll find Verify Database. It should fix up your report to match the current file structure in DBA. You'll probably need to run this from each report.

Been there, done that, didn't work. It looks like I need to adjust the buffers somehow? Any ideas?

It appears the file that is causing the trouble is the BKARHINV.B file. Does anyone know how to fix the data buffer error in a file?

I take it nobody has any other ideals of how to solve this problem?

I seem to remember having a problem like this a couple years ago after a DBA update.  Unfortunately I never figured it out either.  I assumed the file structure changed and there was nothing I could do about it.  I seem to remember that I was able to use the Verifiy Database function for some of my reports.  The rest I just threw in the towel and re-created them.  I know this was not the answer you wanted  Tongue

But I can't even re-create the report, because when I try to write a new report I still get the data buffer error. Thats whay I am thinking there has to be a setting or something that needs to be changed.
