Evo Installation
09/07/04 at 07:50:43

I have installed our 30 day trail of Evo  Grin, and I am wondering if I did it right.  I installed it directly into the DBA file.  Should I have given it its own folder in the DBA file or its own folder on the same drive as DBA?  Also, on my workstation, I have a shortcut to EVO, a shortcut to EVO Local, and a shortcut to EVO update.  Which of these should I be using on my client station?  I have many other questions, but its too soon to ask them!!

Installing to DBAMFG is correct.  Once it is installed, and you run the TAS - J - Workstation Setup (which you obviously have since you have the icon) use the TAS 6 DBA Local icon and get rid of the others.

Next step is user menus in TAS - G.  You can use the TAS6EVODOCS.PDF for instructions on setting up the user menus.  Don't use any of the other installation instructions in the PDF file, they are out of date but the User Menu instructions are still valid.  Email me if you need additional help.

Looks like I have already screwed things up!  I was in the Set Configuration and changed the default company to my current company (WG instead of B) and saved this and now I get this message when tring to start Evo, " YOu already have an instance of TAS Pro 6 Runtime for this particular path: M:\  (where M is the drive for DBAMfg).  What do I do now!

I seemed to have fixed that first problem.  I went into the ini file and changed the default company back to B and restarted and the program came up again.  However it only took a few minutes of me mucking around in the Maintain Menu access records to make another mess.  -- New error message when starting the local program, "Data dicationary file could not be opened: M:\wtasfmgr.dbf.  When I look in the DBAMFG folder, I don't find this file.  Don't have a clue as to what I did.  What I was trying to do was set up an "access code" for my user name because the message I get when I first open Evo says I don't have a corresponding record in the menu setup file.

Is there an update for the remainder of this information in the works?
