Usage Report by PID (Part) Number
10/07/04 at 05:58:05

Is there a way (built into DBA) to get a "usage" report based on part numbers, by range of date?

We would like to get a listing of the parts we make by quantity between some given date range.  We know we can get individual usages from the inventory screen, but we'd like a report that summarizes all the parts made, etc., etc.

We are currently "stuck" at the Feb. 2004 update level, so nothing implemented from then on can work for us.

Thanks

I would use MS Access. This would be a relatively easy one as you should really only have to use one file (INVTXN) to get the info. You could use MS Excel and the MS Query capability and manipulate in Excel, but Access as a database itself makes the manipulation easier and you can design the report in Access to look EXACTLY the way you want it.

John -

As I recall, your issue with not installing the updates was the ability for SO and WO date changes to be passed back & forth.  Tomorrow's update will have a switch to turn off that option so you will be able to update.

Also have a new Inventory Usage add-on report that you could get independent of the update.  I will send you a demo.

Aricon,

As you may, or may not, remember, we're a bunch of very NON-Computer literate people who struggle with just the basics, much less Access.  Yes, I have a couple of people who could work through it, possibly, but most learn a specific key-stroke pattern they have to do and know only that that specific pattern gives such and such output.  Why, how, where, etc., is unknown and not a concern.

Makes life interesting some days!

Thanks though...

Lynn,

We haven't tried the "demo" yet... still working on getting some sort of RA policy / procedure to work, but hopefully we'll try it before the end of the week.

As for the update, they are all anticipating WONDERFUL things....  No pressure, no pressure, no pressure... Smiley

Thanks

John
