Incorrect Average Costing
11/08/04 at 10:36:31

We're using Average Costing and ever since the July update we've been experiencing a problem.  We didn't notice this until the other day, so hopefully there is something we can easily do to fix.

When an item on the purchase order is received, DBA does not update the average cost.  Last cost is apparently updated ok, but not the average costs.  Work Orders still use average cost for computing the final cost of a product.

Question #1 - Are other having this trouble and/or is there a fix to get rid of it?

Question #2 - Is there a utility some place that will recalcuate the average cost (the one is system manager doesn't work with FIFO/LIFO).

Thanks!

Question #2 - IN-L-H, "Edit Lifo/Fifo buckets" will show how DBA has calculated average cost based on the remaining transactions in LIFO/FIFO buckets.

One can manually change the average cost in IN-K by entering the part number and the value you want the average cost to be, but you must also run utility UT-K-G to recalculate book value as well. (May also have to edit LIFO/FIFO buckets if the value you enter differs from the average cost in the buckets.)
