JOB LABEL AGAIN
01/20/05 at 07:32:01

Hello everyone, last we spoke I mentioned I would get a little printer to print labels for jobs, which I did, installed it and rearranged the traveler form to my liking.
Now I have 2 problems.
The labels which I bought is continuous 2 7/8" wide, so I shortened the width of the form, then I get an error from the printer that the size is wrong and if I leave it at 8" wide of course it runs out 3 labels, which is wrong and a total waste of labels. I don't know if it is a dba issue or the printer issue that I would have to call Brother.
Then my second problem is when I choose any amount more than 1 job to print, it prints the first job only.
Can anyone give me some pointers on how to fix these issues. As always I'll be very appreciative in your responses. Have a Great Day!!

Delta,

Had the same problem.  I'm using a brother P-touch PT-2300.

First, the correct software and drivers have to be installed according to the brother documentation!  this is critical to get everything else to work.

Next,  restore your 1up label form.  It doesn't matter if it's greater than the default page size. set the width to what you want it to be.  (Be careful with that fields or thay may cut off on the print!) When the form has the information and layout you want save it.

In DBA go into UT-G, choose your form and set the size there along with any margins you may need. (I'm printing inv labels on 1" stock so I have mine set to 1.0000, 0, 0, 1)  Then set the default printer to the brother printer.

Print your label and you should be working!

If you are printing barcodes, make sure you print with as much information as possible and test it!  the forms have a tendancy to clip data!  for an example, I print inventory labels I have a dummy item for testing that has a part number that is 15 char long with all description fields maxed out. that way I can be sure everything is getting printed, especially the barcode.  Before I made the test item, I printed and labeled a bunch of material to find out later that my scanner couldn't read them because the stop bit on the barcode was clipped.

Hope it helps,

Tim

Tim,

I'm not doing barcodes, my printer is finally printing, but now I'm having some other problems, one thing you maybe able to help me with is the formats on the Brother I have the 550 and I would like to save the format that worked, because everytime I try to print and I go in to print or try to find the one I did before it  jumps to another it doesn't seem to save it.

Now with the forms, I had to redo another one for traveler, actually it is BKWOC1 and if I let it print it will print thousands of the same instead of one of each. Who can help me with that?

Thanks again. Tania
