New Update - 2/22/05 problems
02/25/05 at 05:53:49

We are having some difficulties with the new update on some workstations.  We are getting the error message "could not find c:\ists.  The information about the update says to run "TOOLBAR" on each workstation to clear this.

However when running TOOLBAR on the workstations with the error message, an error message pops up saying "could not find c:\ists"

Therefore, we cannot clear this message and cannot use IN-A or IN-B.  This is a huge problem!  Any help would be great.

Solved my own problem  Cheesy

It appears as though any user that did not previously configure some portion of DBA using ISTECH abilities will get this error because, at least in our case, the ISTECH file was not in the ISTS folder on the server or on the affected workstations.

Simply copying the file from a workstation that had updated to the ISTS on the server solved the problem.

Hopefully, Lynn will confirm.

We too had similar error message on most, but not all workstations.  Found that the c:\ISTS folder was empty in those cases.  Copied the folder from the server and corrected the problem.

Yes, I apologize that the documentation was incomplete.  The C:\ISTS folder not only has to exist but it also needs to contain at least one file (can be anything).  If you have ever turned on the toolbar or set locan configuration settings, you would have the folder with files in it.

I also noticed that in SD-Q System Manager tab once you change the alternate drive for /ISTS/ you can't change it back to the blank default (C:/ISTS/).

I have a fix for that which has already been updated in the posted file.  If you have already downloaded the post and would like that patch, email and I will send it to you.

I noticed that on the workstations that I have not installed evo on (not that many) when trying to use DBA classic we get the message about the c:\ISTS file, but after I install Evo, it fixes the problem....

That is because the Evo workstation setup creates a C:\ISTS folder and puts files in it.
