W/O ESTIMATED/ACTUAL COSTS WAY OUT IN LEFT FIELD
03/28/05 at 10:36:28

HELP!  I entered a new work order and for some reason the estimated costs are way out in left field.  A $1400 w/o says its materials are estimated at $1,000,000.  I can't figure out why it is doing that. All quantities are entered correctly and u/m are correct and the each costs are correct. Where could the problem be?

I had another one and didn't catch it and I issued the material.  The estimated is ok but the actual became out of wack when I issued material.  A part that has a qty of 1 on the w/o and was valued at $106.97 calculated at $359,382.20 and on the job cost report the estimated per part was $106.97. Where do I start in resolving what could be wrong????

Well, I may be a bit unorthodox, but here's what I'd do. Start out by going to my Sandbox (copy of my real company that I play in) and enter the same transactions, and go all the way through, even though they look wacky. Then go to GL-O and see what transactions there actually are and at what costs. That can help narrow it down the actual item you need to examine.
