Blocked menu items accessible
05/09/05 at 06:51:08

We had a problem on Friday in EVO-ERP...unfortunately, I was not here to look at the computer.  My receptionist left a note that her EVO-ERP settings had changed and payroll & paylink were accessible.  We looked today, and they are not showing up.  Only me and one other very reliable person have access to p/r.  I asked if she had logged onto that particlular computer.  She had not.

Has anyone experienced any problems with access restrictions not sticking?

We have this problem occasionally - where when someone logs on they get full access. Usually if we close the workstaion DBA and re-open it, it will open properly. It sem to only happen the first time DBA is opened after re-booting the workstation. If there is a fix, I would be very interested as we are relying on the employee to log out and re-log on when they notice they have full access.

That is interesting.  We shutdown workstations every night, I did not know of it happening before.  This is a SERIOUS problem as I want to put data collection on the shop floor.  Wouldn't they have a field day with that!

I Agree, that is a Serious BUG. If you can reproduce it let me know and I will fix that ASAP. I have never seen or heard of that happening...  I will look into that.

I saw it happen once before I change the "Default" account settings in the Evo menu. I stripped all of the menues except IN-A out of the default account so that folks who have a DBA account, but have no Evo menu set up yet, will not become superusers when they log in out of curiosity.

Any chance that the default could get picked up occasionally?

Just experienced this here, too.  Our shipping manager noticed when she just logged in that Payroll was showing up, and she had A LOT more items available than previously.
She brought it to my attention, fortunately.  I asked her to log out and log back into Evo, and things seemed OK.

I'll try changing the default menu to nothing and see if that helps.  But I'll be there are times when someone does notice the extended access and says nothing!  That could be a real problem.

We are looking at ways to bulletproof this.  Meanwhile, use TAS-G and copy the Default menu to one named ADMIN and create an ADMIN user and password in PS-A.  Then edit the Default menu and remove access to any sensitive programs so if anybody does get into it, they won't have access to sensitive information.
