editing forms in EVO
05/25/05 at 09:23:19

We just installed EVO and are in the process of editing forms.

On invoices the 2 fields at the top of the page which shows Bill to and Ship to addresses.... the label B I L L is not shown in a vertical line.  In EVO, it show as follows
B
I L
L
SHIP is fine, how can I fix this??

Also Purchase orders are titled "CURRENT PURCHASE ORDER" in EVO, in DBA they were called just "PURCHASE ORDER", is there also an easy way to fix this??

Thank you for any help.
Pam

If I recollect correctly, we fixed this by clicking on the label box and making it slightly longer.

Pam, aren't you in for a treat! You will have to accomodate for a few differences between the two systems, and yes, I (and many others who may not have taken the time to post) have ran across these nuances as well.

As far as the "BILL" (and/or "SHIP") field, you will have to modify that field on the form, the easiest thing to do for me was just to create separate fields for each letter. Reason being is that I found that forms print slightly different on various printer models.

The PO form header issue may be fielded better by someone else, as it's been awhile since I looked at that... thought there's a setting in there someplace, or you could just modify that field on the form I guess. Good luck!  Wink

I've found that narrowing the field fixes that problem and is less frustrating than trying to align the individual letters. For "BILL" I narrowed the box to about the width of the I.

True, it is frustrating, but found it to work consistently between printers.  Just make all of the fields (boxes) the same width, stack them, and set the text alignment to center. Viola!

It is the same method used on the old (TAS5) forms, speaking of which you could copy-paste the fields as well...  8)

Both Classic and Evo have a Variable Field Name defined as the title of the PO and it prints "Purchase Order" the first time a PO prints but then prints either "Original PO" or "Current PO" on subsequent printings depending on which you choose on the print screen.  I suspect you went in a long time ago and changed the Classic RTM to simply print "Purchase Order".  You could certainly do the same in Evo.

This is similar to the field for the word "Invoice" on top of an invoice which is actually a variable and prints "Credit Memo" if the net amount is negative.

Thanks everbody, making the field narrower on the invoice fixed us right up and you must be right Lynn, we have forgotten what all we did change on DBA Forms when we first set up, we copied the title from the DBA form to the EVO form and that worked for us..  Cheesy

I give up - can't get "Current Purchase Order" to not print in EVO.

Step by step instructions would be great.

The addition of "Current" only prints when you re-print a PO. However, if you want to get rid of it you can simply hide (un-check "visible") and put in a Text Box with the words "Purchase Order". Just be aware that there is now no way to tell whether it was the Original or Current PO.

The last question on the Print PO screen (PO-B) is "Print (O)riginal or (C)urrent PO?" and if you choose O then the word "Original" prefixes it instead of "Current"

You might also want to try different RTMs, since there seems to be some variation between them. I'm working with IT6POB4.RTM and it is printing just PURCHASE ORDER when I reprint.

If you change the title on the RTM to text PURCHASE ORDER rather than the variable that is there, then it will always print the same.
