Rob, For ODBC to work, you need to be sure that the Relational Engine is Running. In the System Services, there are two engines associated with the pervasive 2000i Engine. One of them is the Transactional engine, the other is the Relational Engine. Make sure the the Relational Engine is running. This is the one that processes the ODBC commands. Using ODBC allows use of the relational engine so that the real work gets done by the server and not crystal reports. Also, be sure that you run the ODBCDDF.run program in DBA. This creates ODBC compatable DDF files in the same folder as the data files. This is an off menu program that you run from System Manager, RUN a DBA program (SM-A I think?!?) When you create your Pevasive Engine interface on the Server, (and you should do this from the servers console), make sure that you point it to the DDF files in the DBA folder were the data files are. Once that is created, then go to your workstation(s) and create a Pervasive Client Interface. Point it to the Engine interface created on the server. Hope that helps.
