2005 postings to 2004 don't show in Income stmt.

We posted transactions in 2005 and dated them in 2004 even though it was already "closed".  Now, those transactions aren't showing up in the 2004 income statement - instead they show up in the 2004 balance sheet as closed out to retained earnings.  How do we get these 2005 postings to show up in our 2004 Income statement?
