Problem with editing GL posting
09/06/05 at 10:33:51

An invalid account was recognized through the receipt of a purchase order.  In this case DBA uses a clearing account #99999.  Normally DBA allows us to correct this account number through GP - P.  In this case DBA keeps duplicating the GL record with the #99999 account every time we try to change it to the correct GL account.

The duplication process is something that was added in order to run some other application however
in this case it has prevented us from making the correcting entry and moving on with posting.

I have tried a couple things in order to fool DBA.  I provided an offsetting entry with an account code of 99999.   I have also tried to zero out the entry with the 99999 account.  Neither had worked.  the error just keeps multiplying.

I would be happy if they could just turn off the duplicating process after fixing the current problem.

Make sure you have the patch file for the 6/20 update installed.  BKGLP.RUN should have a modified date of 7/5/05 and should not be duplicating the 99999 entries.

www.istechsupport.com/dl/620patch.zip - unzip to DBAMFG - same password as the 6/20 update.
