I am trying to set up via contact manager a way of tracking history (warranty claims, upgrades, phone conversations, etc) by the serial number of a product manufactured by us.  I would like to be able to print out reports showing the type of activity/history by serial # and also by dealer (one dealer may have several items).  I entered the serial # as the account code, and entered the dealer code for "rep code". The problem I am having is that when I enter history, DBA does not allow me to change the "rep" to the "dealer rep", but is the person entering rep name, thus I cannot get the history report to print out data by "dealer rep".  Any suggestions?  I could set up each dealer in rep/password, but if any entry is made to the serial/account code from a different password, I don't think that that info will appear under the dealer/rep sorting, but under the rep name of the person who made the entry.
