Just a suggestion as I have had this problem and have been working around it from day one. I keep my .b files for my main companyon a seperate volume with a dedicated partition that is shadowed on my VA so I can do backups while people are still on the system. Because of this, at every update, I have to move all files placed in the \dbamfg\default directory to the volume where my default company is stored or I will get a "you are not licensed, Contact Lynn" error. It would be nice if the new install looks at the location of the .b files and placed them there instead of the \bdamfg\default directory. FYI, yes I have tried mounting the shadowed volume as \dbamfg\default. HoweverI have hed issues with the volume not fully mounting or permissions being lost on server reboots. (usually once a month with Windows 2003) Just a suggestion. Tim
