We have a strange problem and I was wondering if anybody else has seen this.
 
Occasionally when we release a sales order line its original quantity and the backorder quantity get kinda screwy and show fractional quantities like 13.25 or something.  Sometimes the quantity is even more than what the line was for (not less, like what you would assume).
 
I've looked through all the parts it seems to happen with and I can't find any conversion factors or anything like that.  Also, it only seems to happen with parts with options.  One last observation is that it seems like its only been happening since we changed the sales order defaults switch: "Release Qtys > On Hand" to only release the line when there is on hand quantities available to ship.  (We had to switch this because of a SOX audit).
 
I've looked through the inventory transactions for the problem parts and there are no fractional quantities there...
 
I'm able to put the sales order right by playing with it so it's not a huge deal, but it's still a little alarming.

I confirmed this problem on components of type K items (I even figured out why it was sometimes more and sometimes less, but don't remember what it was off the top of my head). However, as Lynn stated, it has been fixed by ISTS.
