DUPLICATE PART NUMBERS
12/23/05 at 05:00:40

We have duplicate numbers in our inventory.  When we search with F2  some come up with negative inventory.  If we go into "maintain database"  MTICMSTR  the part numbers show  up as duplicate.  When we remove them from this database  and go back to inventory they still are in the inventory.  How do we get these numbers to permanently be removed from inventory?

You also have records in BKICLOC that need removed. I am not sure if also BKICMSTR?

John,

You where right they where in BKICLOC and BKICMSTR,
but when I remove them from these files they still show up on an inventory search. In fact the part number appears 4 times.

Running Reconcile Inventory On-Hand (Master Level Only) should clean up MTICMSTR, BKICMSTR, and BKICLOC.

I would run this in report mode to see if it says it will correct this.  If so, back-up your data (always recommended prior to any utitlity) and run for real.

The help file on SM-J-C (Reconcile) describes what it will do.
