Print Detail Trial Balance for 2005
01/17/06 at 09:00:49

I know this is going to sound stupid. embarrassed
But I am tired of the trial an error method of getting the 2005 detailed trial balance after you do year end procedure.  Could someone please tell me what the date parameters are for getting an ending trial balance with 2005 income and expense listed?  I know I have already done it at least 10 times since year end but I seem to be brain dead and can not do it again.

Do you want the trial balance or the income and expense report?  For the trial balance, GL-E,  the date range is 01/01/05 to 12/31/05 and say yes to summary and pick beginning and ending balances.  This report takes a long time.  To get the ending Income and Expense Report, GL-F, pick one year past and put in the date range 01/01/05 to 12/31/05.

I need detail trial balance to e-mail the CPA for taxes.  The date range of 01/01/05 - 12/031/05 works for the posting date range....if i use entry date range of 01/01/05 - today's date that puts the income and expenses at 0 for the calendar year.  If I use any other date range for posting date I get year end 2004 balance in income and expense accounts.  This is driving me crazy!!!!!!  I have run the T/B before but I just can't seem to remember what my parameters were.   If I run the 2005 dates for entries and do not include y/e entries I get the wrong information.  So I am guessing my entry dates range is wrong.   I do not use the GL- F as my F/S are too complicated.  I just take T/B and drop into excel spreadsheet.  I have again tried every imaginable combination.  Can you try and let me know what parameters you used.

I finally got it.  The posting date is 01/01/05 - 12/31/05 the entry date is start of system date thru today, NO to year end entry, Yes on summary.  I feel like have just one the lottery. Grin Grin

There's no need to enter a "Entry Date" - just leave it blank.

Thanks...I am going to Phoenix.  After three years I still don't know the easiest way to do things.

See you in Phoenix?
