Alan,Lynn, Have installed EVO over DBA and started using. Here are the issues we are having with EVO (some of these are probably advanced issues) 1: Screen res/position We have systems with multiple displays. (I personally can and will run 4 at the same time.) When stating EVO, All screens start in the middle of the "display area" not in the middle of the main screen. with two monitors, it's the intersection of the two. with four it's in the upper roght hand corner of the primary. Screens have to be moved when loging on and after logon. i.e. if after loggin on, I open IN-A, that screen will end up in the middle of the "display area" the user can move it to any screen and it will continue to open in the same place untill shutdown. This brings me to issue 2. 2: screens and dialogs can be anywhere! this is great but not sure if this is intended as focus is easily lost. This is especially true on Dialog and alert boxes. The can and do end up behind other screens. The user things they are locked up when they are going too fast the a dialog box ended up behind and active screen. i.e. SO-F has a dialog box that asks to print new or reprint. That doalog box can pop up under another screen and even under the EVO desktop. You can continue to press SO-F untill you are blue in the face but nothing will happen. You can not even shut down EVO because the dialog box is still open. The focus on dialogs needs to be set to "on top always" if available. 3: Slow Slow Slow. We are finding the system to be slow. Not sure what is causing it however, could be that windows are boing opened on multiple monitors of the dekstop. Users are shringing the desktop to a KDE type launch pad (kind of like MAS90). Slowness could be from loss of focus. If this is a bug, It's a great one and it would be nice to keep it! Current users will have from 3 to 8 different windows open at the same time. User will click IN-A, pull up part info then click SC to get to SC-A the menu for IN will be up and the one for SC will not show until another click is made on SC. 4: Printing with graphics. I have imported files for all finished goods in our database and updated all RTMs with company logo. When printing, sometimes all images come out black. some times they don't. Seems to be no reason I can find for black images. 5: Copy Item/BOM/Route: When copying an "item" be it route, BOM or actual part, sometimes everything comes over and the screens are populated and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, exiting the specific screen and reentering with the new "Item" that was copied shows all data that is copied. Not a major issue as all data is there but still Have the issue of having to backout and reenter. 6: Screen text possitioning. Some screens have text that is shifted under entry fields. Needs to keep a close watch on shifts Currently look aty SD-B, SD-E, SD-I for examples. 7: Cancel buttons. Cancel bottons don't always work. It the system things data needs to be entered you can not cancel. Cancel appears to only be available under the new TAS programs. A good example, is TAS-G. Clcik "Add User" and click cancel. It won't work and you have to click the windiag "X" control element to exit the screen. (or create a bogus user then delete that user after you exit" 8: Upgrading User: Already had a profile for user ADMIN from classic. Can not create menu access for the same ADMIN user in TAS-G. Says it already exists but is not available for manipulation. 9: Invalid info in SC-A Under the SC-A screen, the line that says SO Number is really the PO number. WO Number is not populated when SN is issued through WO. If you are using the same field for SO and PO, that needs to be seperated as We can buy an item from a vendor and resell it to a customer. We need both numbers for that SN. 10: Terms different on invoice screen. The terms for the customer can be set to say 9 on the customer. when the PO is created, the terms are also 9. When the PO is received, the terms are still 9. however, when the invoice is processed, the terms are a random number i.e. 5. Don't have a clue what causes this put it brives my book keeper crazy! Have talked to Lynn and Bill about this and was hoping it would go away with EVO but it's still there. 11: master tab/menu problem. If modules are turned off under PS-D the system will GPF when you try to also remove them through TAS-G. Have to go back into PS-D, turn the module back on, enter TAS-G and remove menu item from all profiles then redisable PS-D. If you don't users can get into that menu option but all buttons give and error. That's it for now.
