Pricing/Estimates
02/22/06 at 14:34:03

This may have been asked before, but my search did not turn up an answer.

We need to start building up material and labor costs into DBA to roll up into Quotes and Sales Orders.  I can write Crystal Reports to give me this info and keep it in spreadsheets, or do a data export, but I want to somehow use DBA to track my estimated cost against real cost in the work orders.  We use Average Costing, and I think that to do what we want we will have to use Standard Costing is that correct.  Or is there someway else that we can build up our pricing/estimates in DBA to keep them in the database and fill in the Quotes/Sales Order.

Thanks.

Scott

Use standard cost
That is your estimated cost.

Standard Cost =
Routing cost  (labor)
BOM Material Cost
Freight  ect.
roll up to standard cost
That's the target cost  (estimate)

mark up the standard cost to compute Base price
(selling Price)
