Link to solid edge DFT file
02/23/06 at 16:00:36

Has anyone tried to use a link in EVO to a Solid Edge Draft file? .dft

I can get it to work when I click on the camera,  It pulls up to viewer and shows the picture, but when I print the traveler, I don't get anything.  I created a "print DDE link but it still doesn't work.

I'm missing something,  anyone have an idea.

Thks

I had a problem printing Thumnails on docs when I used the global path setting. I could see it with the cmaera icon but it would not print. I set the complete path and said no to use global and all printed fine.

John,

Thanks for the help but right now I'm not using global.  I think the problem may be in my DDE for the SE viewer.  When I print from DBA,  I end up with Print files in my temp folder.  When I right click from explorer,  It launches the app, send to printer then GPFs.

I think the problem is with the app itself and DDE isn't implemented correctly.  (not the first time I have had program issues with USG!)

Thanks,

Tim

Not yet,  I'm trying to make UGS fix their program so I don't have to add the extra step.

If they don't fix it, that will be my next step.  I got a call today from their support and they don't have a clue what DDE is.  I have a feeling their engineers don't have COM+ set up correctly ether so that's going to cause a problem with Word unless everything is converted to a standard graphic or PDF which is an invalid solution since our prints change monthly right now.

Yep I was right!  Invalid COM configuration.  Their container is a different name than the app so you get an error when trying to import into word!
