We are starting to implement data collection on the shop floor using bar code scanning. It is so fun trying to break years and years of habit-punching a time clock and writing all the info down. There are some items that would help make this process easier. 1) Add division/department sorts to the reports-especially DC-D. Supervisors are required to review employee time. I cannot print a report for each supervisor to review with only his/her employees, because we cannot sort or limit by division. 2) Add Part Number and Sequence description to reports such as DC-D. When reviewing time, we have to sit at the computer with WO-A or DC-I and lookup to see if the employee picked the right WO & sequence. This would greatly enhance data collection and speed up the supervisory role. 3) Add a column in DC-D to note whether Labor or Setup is being reported-could be a single letter. 4) Have an easy way to "fix" errors in number of jobs reported. The process is very convoluted. Except for these issues, the implementation is going great.
