Short-Cut Keys
06/23/06 at 13:40:32

Is there a list of the pre-set short cut keys (F-XYZ) anywhere?  I didn't see anything in the help files.

Thanks.

this is found in the PDF located in your DBAMFG or EVOERP directory, the Acctug.pdf.

Standard buttons & function keys
Clickable buttons and/or their function key equivalents perform various functions throughout DBA such as calling up lookups, saving records, exiting the program, etc. You can either click on screen buttons (mostly located along the bottom of each screen) or press an equivalent function key. The standard buttons are described below and their equivalent function keys are shown in parentheses.
Help (F1)
Displays whatever help may be available within each program or opens the on-line help for the program if field specific help does not exist within the program.
Lookup (F2) and  Magnifying Glass Icon
Clicking this button displays a pop-up window that lets you search files for things such as item numbers, customer codes, vendor codes, etc.  An alternative to clicking on the Lookup button on the bottom of the screen is to use the magnifying glass icon that is located to the left of any field that contains a lookup.
Clear (F3)
Clicking this button clears all fields on the screen. This function does not affect the files in memory; in other words the information you just cleared from the screen is not deleted from the data files.
Delete (F4)
Clicking this button deletes the entire record currently on the screen. This option differs from the Clear function in that it deletes the record from the data files, rather than from the screen only. USE WITH CAUTION.
First (F5)
Clicking on this button retrieves the first record in the file. It can only be used on a key (searchable) field.
Last (F6)
Clicking on this button retrieves the last record in the file. It can only be used on a key (searchable) field
Previous (F7)
Clicking on this button scrolls you backward through the file one record at a time. A First (F5), Last (F6), or Find (F9) must have been selected before this option can be used.
Next (F8 )
Clicking on this button scrolls you forward through the file one record at a time. A First (F5), Last (F6), or Find (F9) must have been selected before this option can be used.
Find (F9)
When your cursor is positioned on a key (searchable) field you can enter one or a few characters and then click on this button to find the closest match in the file. For example, if you type ‘51’ in an account field and then click on the Find button, the first account beginning with 51 will be displayed. If an exact match is not found the program will find the next closest match.
Save (F10)
Clicking on this button saves the current information on the screen to the data files. In most programs once you have completed the screen you will click on this button to save your entries, unless automatically prompted to do so.
Print (F10)
All reports in DBA have an entry screen in which you can enter a variety of from/thru ranges and other selection criteria to control what appears on your report. If you wish to print all entries and avoid pressing <Enter> through all the fields, most reports offer a Print button shortcut that bypasses the selection fields and prints all the information.
Exit
Clicking on the Exit button allows you to escape any screen without saving any information that has been entered or changed. As an alternative you can also press the <Esc> key to do the same thing.
Esc
Pressing the <Esc> key allows you to escape any screen without saving any information that has been entered or changed. The <Esc> key provides an alternative to clicking on the Exit button.
Up Arrow
Moves the cursor to the previous field.
Down Arrow
Moves the cursor to the next field. You can also press <Enter> to move forward from field to field.
Left Arrow
Moves the cursor to the next character position in a field.
Right Arrow
Moves the cursor to the previous character position in a field.
Backspace
Deletes the character to the left of the cursor and shifts all characters to the right of the cursor one position to the left.
Delete
Deletes the character to right of the cursor and shifts all characters to the right of the cursor one position to the left.
Insert
Inserts a space at the current cursor location and shifts all characters to the right of the cursor one position.
CTRL+R - Restore Field
Restores the original entry in the current field. If you have changed the entry in a field and the cursor has not left that field yet, this option will restore the entry as it was before you changed it. Once the cursor leaves the field you can no longer use this option.

on some screens, the F-function keys have a different assignment. Like on IN-A or WO-A, or GL-O.

best to experiment. wont hurt much, except that darn delete key... Wink

hth,
