When we changed to evo the print travlers would not print the dash # (2356-  ). so i tried edit forms thinking one of the boxes was covering up that field. I just tried doing it again moved the boxes around and now it wont print either number the work order or the dash. Any suggetions

You don't  say what version of Evo you are running.  A while back I had that problem with the WO suffix.  Ibelieve I fixed it by adding it to the RTM, but I am not certain; what ever was done worked.  
ARe you sure, that when you print the traveler, the RTM that you pick is the one that  you modified?  Have  you tried using different RTM's?

At one time, this field used an incorrect format when calling out the datafield name.  Can't remember, but I think it had dashes instead of periods.
Should be MTWO.WIP.WOPRE

I changed the field to read. MTWO.WIP.WOPRE and now the work order # prints but no dash #.

So how should I enter it in the field.
(MTWO.WIP.WOPRE.MTWO.WIP.WOSUF) IS THIS RIGHT?

No, they are two separate fields.
When you look at the RTM click on the field that needs corrected, then change it.
Mine shows:
Work Order:  then there is a box with the base #, that should be MTWO.WIP.WOPRE, then there is a tiny box with a dash in it.  That separates the prefix and the suffix.  Then there is a box with the actual dash number, that should be mtwo.wip.wosuf.
