you can, but then you have to accept that all checks in that check register belong to that checking account. which you know to not be true. but as long as you know what cutover date, and what is reconciled in that specific checking account. then you are ok. if you want a clean seperation tho, then use a New and different line for a new checking account. hopefully there will be an added feature to disable a checking account yet keep it for history. hth, dave
