How do you use Warehouse control???????

This could be a very great feature for us if I could figure out how to use it. We need to transfer a part from a main warehouse to another warehouse but into two or more separate bins at the new warehouse. We need to be able to see the quantity on hand in each bin at that warehouse and ultimately we need to be able to release a SO and ship a quantity from a specific bin at that warehouse. Is this possible or not???

You need to go to SD-Q, Items, and set the Enable Warehouse Control flag to Q to turn on the control of on-hand quantity by Bin. You can import available bins and quantities using WC-C and you can selectivel turn Bin Control on or off by item or warehouse.

Once enabled, then all transactions moving inventory will prompt for the bin.

Thanks Lynn for the response but I still can not seem to get this to work. I have the sd-q set up and some bins assigned to items but when I IN-L-J it prompts me for a warehouse and bin and I complete the transfer but when I go into IN-A for the item and click on BINs the warehouse qty for the item increases but the Bin UOH says 0 qty. I must still be doing something wrong.

I am having similar problems with wareouse control.I am sure that the problem must be in the setup because some items work and some don't. They look the same but??? What I want to do is;
move and control materials from bin to bin in the same warehouse and move material from bin to bin between different warehouses. Any ideas?
