IN-F Report Funky Since Update
08/31/06 at 07:04:18

We typically print an IN-F (Inventory Value) report at month end to send to the bank.  Prior to the update, it was always in line with our GL.  When we printed it last night, the book value column is missing, and also it appears to be doubling the on hand quantity, hence doubling the totals on the report.  We created a Crystal report to give us the same info, and it's A-OK, so something's amiss since the 8/11 update.

Help!

Thanks,

Val

I downloaded the 8/11 update yesterday and installed it this AM. Everything looks fine here.

Well, here's what I've tested so far, and it may be some mething in the settings somewhere? I do know some were recently changed by Accounting, though which ones was not documented.

The screen says "IN-F Print Inventory Value - ISTS Enhancement 07/24/05"--is that the correct version?

As per the IN-F Print screen, which says "Note: GL Book Value is not maintained by location and will be reported if printing all locations", we are tagging all locations.

Could there be a rogue setting somewhere?  Or could it be a faulty location causing the problem?  They said something about adding another location, not sure when that was--probably after last month end, I dunno for sure.

Any ideas?

Mine also says 7/24/05, but the actual file date of BKINF.RUN is 5/8/06. We don't have multi locations so I can't help you there.

What is the Crystal Report looking at?  It does soun like a Location issue.  Go into IN-A for an item showing double the on-hand quantity and click Locations.  That may give you a clue.  IN-F looks at the UOH based on the BKICLOC file, and if backdating to a prior date, backs out transactions going back to the as-of date.  I suspect your Crystal Report is simply looking at the current UOH in BKICMSTR.

Hi Lynn,

The Crystal Report is looking at the current UOH in BKICMSTR.  So if accounting changes the Crystal to look at BKICLOC it should double as IN-F does, which means it is probably a location issue?  They're going to check IN-A for locations on the suspect parts.  Will let you know.

Can you explain the comment about book value and inventory locations at the bottom right onthe IN-F screen? We dont' think it makes much sense.

Thanks,

Val

Val,

If you are selecting all locations by clicking tag all button, does every location have a check mark beside it?  Do you have any locations dedicated to RMAs or Service and Repair?

Yes all the locations have check marks, and we do have two locations for different types of instrument calibrations. Why would that make a difference?
